I've found myself really zeroing in on the first few seconds of a website lately.
Itโ€™s not about fancy animations, the colour scheme, or whether it looks super trendy.
My main question is always:
If I have to scroll down to get it, thatโ€™s a red flag for me.
That initial section of a homepage really has a lot on its shoulders. It needs to give me enough of a clue about who they serve, what they offer, and why I should even bother sticking around.
Everything else can fill in the blanks later.
That first glimpse just needs to pique my interest enough to make me want to see more.
So yeah, that's a big part of how I judge a homepage.
