Ali Baba Platform — Multi-Branch Commerce & Operations System

The Ali Baba Platform is a complete, enterprise-grade e-commerce and operations system I designed and built end-to-end for a multi-branch patisserie business. It isn't a themed online store — it's the full digital backbone of the business: a fast, conversion-focused storefront on one side, and a real-time, role-gated operations console on the other, running order routing, merchandising, and analytics across every location.

My Solution

I designed the platform around one rule: the server is the only source of truth for price, stock, and permission — never the client. Everything else follows from that:

Built on Next.js 16's App Router with Server Components by default — pages arrive with live, correctly-priced data already baked into the HTML, no client-side loading spinners

A pure, server-side Discount Engine that resolves the single best live discount across category-, product-, and variant-level promotions — the only place discount math lives, so the catalog, cart, and checkout can never disagree on a price

Every order re-verifies price, stock, and the best live promotion inside one atomic database transaction — the client can send a product ID and a quantity, never a price

Native multi-branch architecture: every order automatically routes to the correct branch, and manager access is scoped to their own branch, resolved live from the database on every request

Automatic fraud throttling on cash-on-delivery orders — no phone number can hold more than 3 unconfirmed orders at once

Financial-grade Decimal arithmetic across every price, discount, and total, never floating-point math

A live analytics dashboard reporting only confirmed, delivered revenue, calculated on the business's real local clock

A polished customer layer on top: multi-variant product selection, animated live-discount badges, a cart that persists across devices and sessions, and moderated customer reviews
