Google Stitch — A Designer's Honest Take (Part 1/2)
Google just launched an AI design tool. But is it actually useful for designers, or just another pretty demo?
I tested it. Here's what genuinely impressed me. 👇
✅ What Works
🟡Sectional edit
🟡Set your own theme
🟡Pre-generated design system
🟡Copy to Figma
🟡Generate variants in seconds
Part 2 coming — where Stitch falls short. 👀
Here’s the Part 2 link: https://on.contra.com/T86dqr
Sorry, I couldn’t post the full review because of the image upload limit. And this is the result from the 1st round of prompting!
I tried this with dark mode and client really loves it !😂
Impressive work
This breakdown is so useful. The sectional edit feature alone makes it worth testing
Awesome Work
Nice takeout. i think it's going to bring huge change in full stack front end sector.
to honest, its hidden gem of its own if you know how to use it well. Again designers are not defined by their used but problems they solve.
Appreciate the honest take.
Thanks for sharing this!
looking forward to Part 2!
It's really helpful, as a developer learning designing this is gamechanging
This is a solid take. Feels more like a thinking tool for early-stage ideas than a complete design solution.
great work
Really impressed with how this has evolved into a complete feature ecosystem — feels like a true go-to toolkit for designers now.
awesome breakdown Lynne I was also playing with it and totally agree with you waiting to see what you feel it falls short 😉 .
