Curious to know what AI tools you guys use for image generation in art direction and creative projects.
I'm particularly interested in tools that can produce realistic, cinematic imagery, with strong control over lighting, textures, composition, and overall visual consistency.
Which tools have given you the best results? Would love to hear your recommendations and experiences! āØ
For cinematic realism: Midjourney for look dev, Flux/ComfyUI for precise lighting/composition control, and Magnific for texture finishing. That combo gives you both beauty + control. Curious what you test! āØ
Thank youu! So far, Iāve only used ChatGPT for image generation, but I often end up with images that have that artificial AI look and texture. So Iām exploring other alternatives!
You're welcome Megi! Yeah ChatGPT is great for quick ideas but for that cinematic realism you were aiming for, Midjourney + Flux combo gives you way more control. Happy to share my workflow if you ever want to try - keep creating, your concepts are lovely! š
While editing a client video recently, we needed to generate some custom art imagery. I used Gemini for it, and for a quick, one-off need, the output was actually really solid especially when using reference images to guide the style.
Thank youu @Aysha siddika ! Looking great!! So far, Iāve only used ChatGPT for image generation, but I often end up with images that have that artificial AI look and texture. So Iām exploring other alternatives!
I also face this problem but if you give a reference image then generic result will not come up. You can take a reference image from Pinterest. You can give that to Chatgpt and give the prompt you need. The better the prompt you can give, the better the output you will get.
Would you send an AI icon set straight to a client? š
I tested Ideogram Vector on a pixel icon set for Yue Fang, an interior decorator with Chinese inspirations. The icon set was for her services.
After a few tries & prompt refining, Ideogram nailed the vibe!
BUT, some things needed to be reworked:
ā”ļø the white parts were shapes stacked on top of a solid black shape, not real cutouts (surprise when you open the SVG š)
ā”ļø some pixels werenāt actually square
ā”ļø some pixels were bigger than others
ā”ļø icon sizes were all different
Pixel art is supposed to be the ONE style where everything sits on a grid lol
Stacked shapes instead of real cutouts is exactly the kind of flaw that only shows up when you open the file. AI gets the vibe fast, but the file-level check before handoff is still on us.
Is AI finally good enough to shoot a product demo on its own, or human touch is still needed?
I generated a 20s product demo with Seedance 2.5 in a single take providing it with one product image reference and an example video transcript (posted in the comments). Do you disclose to a client how much AI is involved, or just let the result speak for itself?
