Shoeshine restores sneakers, but its online presence stops at Instagram and every quote begins with scattered DMs.
I built Shoeshine in Base44: a mobile-first website and app where customers upload shoe photos, get guidance from an AI Restoration Concierge, request a quote, and track each restoration. Behind the scenes, structured inquiries flow into an owner dashboard, with automated confirmations, status updates, review requests, and repeat-care reminders.

I'm incredibly humbled by what I was able to build using the Base44 mobile app alone.
This week, I am away from my workstation, but the theme and direction of the challenge inspired me to take on a project anyway.
I decided to redesign the website for my favorite local barbershop, KAYZPLACE, after noticing several usability gaps the last time I visited it.
I'll admit, I was skeptical about whether I could complete an entire website using only my phone. But Base44 completely changed my perspective. Having used several website-building platforms in the past, I can confidently say this is one of the most optimized experiences I've had for mobile-first development.
The seamless performance across mobile, tablet, and desktop without compromising functionality genuinely impressed me.
Using only my phone, I built a completely redesigned version of the KAYZPLACE website featuring:
• Online service booking
• KAYGENT, a custom AI assistant that answers FAQs, helps customers choose the right barber and service, explains pricing, assists with reservations, and provides personalized aftercare recommendations between visits
• An admin dashboard for managing bookings, tracking customer data, and sending email notifications
These capabilities were either missing on the original website.
The new experience makes booking appointments significantly easier while giving the business better tools to organize appointments and customer information.
The most exciting part is that every aspect of this project was created entirely within the Base44 mobile app, without ever opening my computer.
The final product is fully responsive and optimized for mobile devices, tablets, and desktop screens alike.
I shared the finished website with the shop owner today, and his reaction made all the effort worthwhile. Seeing how excited he was about the transformation reminded me why I love building products that solve real problems.

This challenge has been both inspiring and genuinely enjoyable, and it's amazing to see what's possible with the right tools even from the palm of your hand.

I transformed a real local dental clinic's online presence into a modern, responsive website with an AI-powered booking assistant, automated appointment workflows, and a complete admin dashboard designed to save time and improve the patient experience.
This project was a great opportunity to combine design, AI, and automation into a solution built for a real business.
