Captured and edited a cinematic short film documenting the Chinese Lunar New Year 2026 celebrations in Victoria, BC's historic Chinatown. The project blends vibrant street photography, dynamic parade coverage, and atmospheric storytelling to showcase one of Canada's oldest Chinatown communities in full festive spirit.
Filmed in 4K, the video captures the energy of the lion and dragon dance performances, the iconic Fan Tan Alley lit with red lanterns, colourful hand-painted umbrellas, the God of Wealth mascot greeting the crowd, traditional drum performances, and the historic Chinese Public School building adorned with lanterns.

Technical hiring is an interesting brief for a launch video. What was the key product message you wanted viewers to remember?

This demo reel, edited for Top End Shoots, celebrates the power of authentic photography, video, and real human experiences.
As AI continues to reshape the creative industry, I believe its greatest value is as an assistant to the creative process—not a replacement for the creative artist. AI can help us explore ideas, improve workflows, and accomplish more, but the vision, emotion, instinct, and lived experience behind meaningful storytelling should remain human.
The images captured by Top End Shoots represent real people, real moments, and real experiences. My role was to bring those moments together through editing and sound design, shaping the footage into a cohesive story while preserving the authenticity of the original work.
