Good Boy Studio –– Less back-and-forth. More tail wags. 🐶
THE PROBLEM
You become a dog groomer because you love spending your days with dogs. And then somehow you spend half of them answering:
How much is a groom?
Which service does my dog need?
Do you have anything available tomorrow?
How long will it take?
Where are you located?
Can I reschedule?
My dog hates baths. Is that a problem?
He might bite… but he’s really friendly!
You get the idea. 😅
For a small grooming studio, all that back-and-forth takes time. And for customers, having to message or call just to figure out prices, availability, and booking isn’t exactly the smoothest experience either.
So I started with a simple question:
What if the website could answer most of those questions instead?
THE GOAL
I wanted to create a grooming website that wasn’t just cute dogs and a Book Now button.
The goal was to give customers everything they need to go from “My dog desperately needs a haircut” to “Great, we’re booked!” without having to send a single message.
And because dog grooming is supposed to be fun, the website needed some personality too. No boring scheduling software. No corporate pet-care aesthetic. Just a friendly, playful experience that feels like the studio behind it.
THE SOLUTION
Meet Good Boy Studio — a playful grooming website with a complete booking experience built right into it.
Customers can first explore four clear services: Full Groom, Bath & Brush, Puppy Groom, and Nail Trim, with the important information available before they start booking.
Then it’s just four steps:
01. Pick a service
Choose what your pup needs.
02. Tell us about your dog
Name, breed, size – all the important fluffy details.
03. Find a time
Choose a date, see available time slots, and pick a groomer.
04. Almost there
Add contact details, review everything, and secure the appointment with a deposit.
The available slots also account for the duration of the selected service, so customers only see times that actually work for their appointment.
And clicking Confirm isn’t the end of the experience.
After booking, customers get a clear confirmation, can add the appointment to their calendar or reschedule it, receive an automatic reminder before their visit, and even get a little nudge when Archie starts getting fluffy again. 👀
THE RESULT
The result is a website that does all of the talking for the groomer.
Customers know what they’re booking, what it costs, when to show up, and what happens next. The studio gets fewer repetitive questions and less scheduling back-and-forth.
Which hopefully means more time spent grooming dogs... and less time answering “How much is a groom?” for the fifth time that morning. 🐕
Less back-and-forth. More tail wags.
Built with Lovable for the Contra × Lovable Challenge. 🧡
P.S. Sorry if the video is a little cringe 😂 I tried my best. But I had a lot of fun making it, and honestly, that’s part of the challenge too.
I already submitted the Paws & Pour project, but I decided to perfect it further to truly maximize the user experience! 🐾☕
Here is the list of the final updates I just added:
✅ PWA support & Mobile Optimized
✅ Added a Full Screen button & Better UX for Booking
✅ Better Admin Portal featuring the ability to scan guest pass easily.
✅ A cleaner system to Easily Track Walk-in Customers.

PawsOnWheels: a booking and automation system for Patrick, a solo mobile dog groomer running one van across Minneapolis and St. Paul.
The problem: Patrick can't answer calls or texts mid-groom or behind the wheel, so new customers book elsewhere. Saturdays overflow while weekdays sit empty, winter weather brings last-minute cancellations, and bookings scattered across the Twin Cities waste hours on the road.
What I built turns "can I book with you?" into "you're booked" with zero effort from Patrick.
For pet parents: pick a service and dog size, enter a ZIP code, and see the days the van is already nearby. Every time slot includes travel and becomes a 45-minute arrival window. A $20 Stripe deposit confirms the booking instantly. Their dashboard shows upcoming visits, their dogs, and a loyalty punch card that applies itself.
For Patrick: each day is planned around one area of the city. One tap opens the whole route in Google Maps. He sees booked, collected, and owed at a glance, and when a groom is done, one tap texts the customer a card link.
The automation: Twilio sends confirmations, 24-hour and 2-hour reminders, and on-my-way alerts. Cancelled and unconfirmed slots are offered to the waitlist, and customer questions get AI-drafted replies with real open times.
How it's engineered: Lovable Cloud (Postgres, auth, edge functions), Stripe webhooks, Twilio messaging, the Lovable AI Gateway, and Google Maps Platform drive times, feeding a route-aware slot engine.
