The Veteran in a Smart Field is built from two Winslow Homer oil paintings in the Met Museum's public domain collection: The Veteran in a New Field (1865) and Coming through the Rye (1867). Homer's golden wheat fields, with their warm light and loose, visible brushwork, became the base of a custom Recraft V4 Style named "Zeeshan Haider". Homer's farmer is often read as a symbol of a fresh start after the Civil War, so I gave that idea a modern form: smart farming. Across seven images, the same farmer and young woman watch AI robots plow, seed and water the field, a drone spray the young green crop, satellite NDVI monitoring on a tablet, and a robotic combine harvest the ripe wheat. The result is a 19th-century painting look applied to technology Homer could never have imagined.
