💎 MINERAL SOCIETY
In 1859, Johann Gottlob von Kurr drew rocks like they were sitting for a portrait. Every facet cross-hatched, every band of malachite coloured by hand.
He drew hundreds of minerals. He never drew a single person wearing one.
The brief said to draw modern things the artist never could. So I gave his minerals a 2026 ready-to-wear collection, one look per specimen, and a fashion house to sell it.
Quartz → faceted wool trench Azurite → crystal puffer Malachite → banded suit Cassiterite → navy faceted jacket, copper trim Agate → banded slip dress Pyrite → peach-ochre coat, cube-block boots Fluorite → faceted organza trench Galena → utility vest with cubic pockets
🎬 How it was made: every image and clip was generated in Recraft Studio ① The find: The Mineral Kingdom (1859) in the Science History Institute's Digital Collections, Public Domain Mark. Eight specimens, cropped clean of captions and plate numbers. ② The Style: Kurr Mineral Plates, a Recraft V4.1 Style trained on those eight crops only. It carries the cross-hatching, the soft hand-coloured washes and the cream paper, so each prompt only describes the garment. From the quartz prompt: "faceted wool trench in charcoal and ivory folded panels…" ③ Made real: each plate became a photograph with Recraft's Edit image and Nano Banana Pro, with the plate as the reference so the colour and cut match. Then every photo was animated with Kling 4.0 in Recraft, and all eight met for one group shot. ④ The house: an emblem, specimen-label hang tags, a campaign plate, a lookbook and museum banners, all drawn with the same Style. ⑤ The film: each look as specimen → plate → photo → motion, cut beat by beat to "Fashion Lounge" by The_Mountain (Pixabay). The titles are typography, not generated text, rendered frame by frame with Claude Code.
Same rocks. New season.
