Polar — Local AI Desktop Assistant
Polar is a local, privacy-focused AI desktop assistant designed around a futuristic HUD interface and system-level interaction.
The project explored how a desktop AI could understand the user's environment, process visual and voice input, and respond or perform actions without relying entirely on cloud services.

Local AI assistant architecture

OCR-based extraction of text from the screen
Voice interaction pipeline
AI-powered context processing and responses
System-level desktop interaction and automation
Local/offline model execution
Real-time assistant-style interface
OCR pipeline:
Screen capture → OCR → Context extraction → Local AI → Response/Action → HUD
The project combined AI, computer vision, OCR, voice interaction, desktop application development, and modern UI engineering into a single experimental personal-assistant platform.
My contribution: Architecture, application development, AI integration, OCR functionality, UI/HUD development, and system interaction.
Interesting architecture.
Where do you draw the boundary for screen capture: does OCR run only when someone explicitly asks, or does it keep watching in the background?
I’ve found that the capture scope and how long that context is retained matter as much to the privacy story as running the model locally.

I'd try restoring one of those JSON backups into a cloned workflow before the next handoff. That way you know it can actually get you running again.
Making components with an AI agent for my new Framer project. So far, I’ve made a background with adjustable square sizes, gaps, spacing, and colors, plus an animated text box, put them together in a little shot. I’m enjoying experimenting with small animations that don’t make the screen feel too busy.
The dotted gradient stays quiet while the coral on “recurring work” carries the hero. That small text motion feels like a system, not extra noise.
Built ConvoStack, a Voice AI platform for AI agents that handle real business calls—from natural conversation and structured intake to system integrations, human handoff, monitoring, and analytics. I led the product, architecture, and engineering.
