Metric or cups? 🥄
Recipe Scaler started with a small problem on a recipe page. Change the servings and every amount turns into something nobody can measure. 1.4999 cups. 1.5 eggs. 187.5 grams of flour.
So it does what a cookbook does. Amounts get scaled and then rewritten: fractions snap to 1½, grams round to numbers you can weigh, eggs and cloves stay whole.
The video is the metric/cups part. One conversion factor does not work, since a cup of flour is about 120g and a cup of sugar about 200g. So each ingredient carries its own grams per cup, and the visitor flips the whole list with one toggle. All in the browser, no API or backend.
