I spent more than a decade working around real operational problems before moving seriously into software development.
At first, those looked like two completely different careers.
I'm realizing they're much more connected than I thought.
Operations teaches you to notice:
• Where information gets lost • Where people repeat the same task • Where processes break down • Where software creates unnecessary friction • Where a five-minute inefficiency becomes hours of wasted time at scale
Now when I build software, I don't just ask:
“Can I code this?”
I ask:
“Should this exist, who actually uses it, and what problem does it remove?”
That's a perspective I'm carrying directly into the development of GhostOps OS and the backend and automation systems I build.
Sometimes a career transition doesn't mean throwing away your previous experience.
