Building websites: fun. Recording them so they don’t look like a shaky screen capture from 2014: not fun 😅

Here’s a sneak peek of an editorial medspa site I’m building in Framer. Soft, editorial magazine-style layouts for a brand that’s all about calm and confidence.

Real question for my fellow designers: what tools are you using to showcase your work?

That 0:37 screen recording looks way smoother than the usual shaky capture, love the soft editorial feel 🙌 What are you using to record it?

Thank you! I used my reg mac screen recorder. It just took plenty of tries since I typically scroll fast 😇

A website can look beautiful and still be difficult to use.

That's something I keep in mind when exploring both Shopify store design and Framer website design.

Although the platforms serve different purposes, some design principles apply to both:

→ Clear navigation helps visitors find their way. → Strong visual hierarchy makes important information stand out. → Thoughtful page structure creates a natural flow. → Responsive layouts help the experience work across screen sizes. → Clear calls to action help visitors understand what to do next.

The goal isn't simply to make a website look impressive.

It's to make the experience clear, useful, and easy to navigate.

I'm continuing to explore how these principles can be applied across different types of websites and projects.

What matters most to you when visiting a website, its visual design, its usability, or a combination of both?

Well said. Usability first, then visuals. Clear navigation wins me every time. 🙌

Three new portfolio templates out 🔥 Gist: one switch folds every case study down to its key sentences. Plakat: type at poster scale, and one button inverts the whole site. Tinta: hover a project and the page takes its colours. HTML, React and Framer.
