Businesses still trust Google reps with their google ads. I genuinely don’t know why.
Had a call with a business last week. Every few months Google assigns them a new account manager who recommends them a new strategy. They complained of everything getting changed every once in a while with no consistent performance.
The account was a mess. They were selling such good products (I'm definitely becoming a customer soon) but the conversion tracking was off, google ads was showing more revenue than the website had actually made, they had no idea which channel was actually driving sales, and the whole thing was just hovering around break even.
I told them everything that needed fixing and the fact that this channel can really work in their favour if managed properly.
They then asked my fee and said they couldn't afford it given their current margins out of ads.
And that’s the trap.
You save money by listening to Google’s free advice.
You lose money because you’re listening to Google’s free advice.
And by the time you actually need someone who knows what they’re doing… you can’t afford it anymore.
Google reps aren’t Google Ads experts. They’re sales reps. There’s a difference.
