URANIA // 2126 — THE GUARDIAN OF HUMAN TIME
In 1625, Urania measured the heavens. In 2126, she preserves what machines cannot own: lived human time.
I reimagined Paullus Schiller’s Automaton clock in the form of Urania, Muse of Astronomy (ca. 1620–30) as a twenty-second-century museum acquisition. Her original gilded mechanism still counts seconds, while a cyan-violet constellation stores memories, ideas, and creation — the things artificial intelligence can imitate but never experience.
The FLORA canvas shows the full process: the original Open Access source, material studies in gold, crystal and obsidian, the Nexus constellation system, installation scale, the analog memory seed, and the definitive artwork.
