One of the biggest mistakes Shopify store owners make?
Installing an app for every problem.
Need reviews? ➡️ Install an app. Need a popup? ➡️ Install an app. Need a wishlist? ➡️ Install an app. Need a custom feature? ➡️ Install another app.
Soon, the store has dozens of apps running in the background.
And then the problems begin:
🐌 Slower website 💸 Higher monthly costs ⚠️ App conflicts 🔧 More things to maintain
Sometimes, the best Shopify solution is not another app.
It may be:
✅ A custom theme solution ✅ A lightweight custom feature ✅ Better use of existing Shopify functionality ✅ Removing unnecessary apps
As a Shopify Developer, I believe the goal isn't to add more technology.
The goal is to build the simplest solution that solves the actual problem.
Because more apps ≠ more functionality.
Sometimes:
Less complexity = Better performance.

Great point! Apps are useful, but many store owners install them without considering the long-term impact on performance and maintenance. The key is knowing when an app is necessary and when custom development is the better choice.
