Growing up, I've always had what my family and friend/relatives call jokingly "vivid imaginations". Meaning I tend to think otherworldly on a whole other scale that not many people would've thought about, because some of my thoughts may be considered a bit far-fetched or outrageous.
I would always imagine different ideas and scenarios, thinking to myself, "What would it be like if my idea actually became a pure reality with the right tools?" This project is based on a very unusual thought that came across my mind not long ago- whenever I hear the word cabbage, I think of marriage. I basically had an Alice in Wonderland moment and decided to share my vision with the right tools at my disposal for this submission.
I imagined The Cabbage Marriage Wedding as a company-made animated short by an agricultural organization Happy Green Co, expressing an innocent, humorous take on the importance of pure, healthy agriculture.
Direction-wise, this leans towards advertising, a product promo video. To give a glimpse of Happy Green Co's personality and what they can contribute to society through business collaborations and connecting with viewers on a common goal--clean agriculture.
While making this brand and short film, I wanted it to feel personal. I wanted to create something that would put smiles on viewers' faces, so I was careful with selecting the right images to reference (characters/scenery), the font type, color palette, voice acting, sound, music, and animation style based on what I wanted the viewers to see. I imagined myself as the audience.
AI could not think the way I do, nor feel what I feel. To know exactly what I want and reach out to people on an emotional scale. To trigger the right emotions, I wanted the viewers to feel. This is something more than just working with data. It's personal.
Doing this project required me to take control and direct the course of action myself. I was the pilot, whereas Envato was the plane. I made this video and brand into reality, something AI could not do on its own since human interactivity is required.
My presentation of the Happy Green Co's animated short and a thorough behind-the-scenes process- from start to finish- is proof that my human judgment has directed prompt engineering, asset creation, and some finishing touches.
