When brainstorming with AI, one of the biggest problems is that the conversation can become too abstract.
You ask for ideas → AI generates ideas → you pick one → start designing.
But there’s a missing step “Visual research”
Before asking AI to generate solutions, give it context about how other products are solving similar problems.
That’s where I’ve been experimenting with Mobbin MCP + Claude.
By connecting Mobbin to the conversation, I can bring real product examples into the brainstorming session.
Now AI can help me:
✅ Analyze patterns across different products ✅ Compare how competitors solve similar problems ✅ Identify common UX patterns ✅ Spot opportunities that might be overlooked ✅ Challenge my initial assumptions ✅ Generate ideas based on real examples, not just theory
And this changes the role of AI in ideation.
Instead of:
“AI, give me some ideas.”
It becomes:
“Here’s the problem. Here’s what other products are doing. Now help me explore what we could do differently.”
That makes brainstorming much more focused on solving the problem, rather than simply completing the design task.
