I would like to share another hobby project of mine — the Spektrum Telemetry Log File Viewer, also known as TLM Viewer. My husband and I created this project together.
This is a rather specific project created for RC model enthusiasts. If you fly planes, helicopters, or drones and use telemetry-enabled Spektrum transmitters from the DX, iX, or NX series, you know they can record flight logs. However, viewing and analyzing that data comfortably can be a challenge.
That is exactly why we built TLM Viewer.
What can this application do?
View and fix log files: It easily reads telemetry files (.TLM) and can even repair corrupted data, which was a common issue with older transmitter firmware versions.
Graph flight data: You can turn raw sensor data into fully customizable graphs, adjust line colors, and zoom in to study every moment of your flight in detail.
Map your flight path: The software extracts GPS sensor data and exports it into a KML file. You can open this file in Google Earth to view a 3D track of your actual flight.
Clean and export records: You can filter out invalid data, delete bad rows, customize columns, or copy records directly to your clipboard to paste them into Excel.
Key details: The application is completely free and very lightweight. It is designed for Windows and requires no installation — you just unpack the ZIP archive and run it.
This is an open-source project. The entire source code is available under the AGPLv3 license, allowing other developers and enthusiasts to explore the logic and contribute to the RC community.
