The product demonstration feels really natural here. I like how the video shows the grips in use while explaining the actual benefits instead of making it feel like a hard sell. That’s exactly what makes UGC work well for fitness products.
WHAT WE CALL LUXURY
Celery used to be a luxury.
Between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it was rare, expensive, and difficult to grow. Families displayed it upright at the dinner table in elaborate pressed-glass celery vases, turning an ordinary vegetable into a quiet performance of wealth.
Today, celery costs a few dollars.
That shift became the starting point for What We Call Luxury, a speculative installation asking a larger question: if something once scarce and aspirational could become ordinary and accessible, what else might?
Using the silhouette and dewdrop-like surface of the historic Hobnail celery vase as a visual language, I reimagined the vessel at architectural scale. Instead of celery, four oversized forms hold the things that increasingly function as luxuries in contemporary life: housing, education, healthcare, and groceries.
The objects spill beyond their containers, exaggerated almost to absurdity. What should be ordinary becomes spectacle.
A fifth vessel takes a different form. Enlarged into translucent Hobnail seating, it asks visitors to enter the work rather than simply observe it. People sit, talk, rest, and share space. Here, the final luxury is less tangible: time, mobility, access, community, and the freedom to imagine a life beyond survival.
The installation looks backward in order to imagine forward. A celery vase became obsolete when what it displayed stopped being scarce. Maybe one day a house key, tuition bill, medical invoice, or grocery receipt could feel just as strange as an artifact of status.
Scarcity is not permanent. Only current.

A Place to Pause
What happens when a vessel made for a quiet moment becomes the room around that moment?
I used The Met's public-domain Tea Bowl with Chrysanthemum Decoration, object 93.1.94, as the reference for an imagined contemporary quiet room. The museum identifies the bowl as Japanese Kyoto ware, probably from the second half of the 17th century. Its curved profile, decorated surface and raised foot guided the spatial brief.
On the FLORA canvas, the original photograph feeds two Nano Banana 2 image studies. The final interior carries the bowl's curve into earthen walls, its decorated band into floral relief and its rim into a ring of daylight. A seated figure establishes scale. This is a conceptual interpretation, not a reconstruction of historic architecture or a buildable architectural proposal.
The sectional study is retained as a rejected exploration: the model added unsupported cultural/material labels. Those labels are not museum facts and the cutaway is not the final image. The separate attribution note records the verified Met details. The brief records design intent; the selected interior shows what the model actually produced.
