Unpopular opinion: most businesses don't need a developer for their website. They need Framer and someone who knows how to use it. I've said this in client calls and watched eyebrows go up. But I've built enough sites now to know it's true. A $15k custom-coded website and a well-built Framer site can look and perform identically to 95% of visitors. Same animations. Same responsiveness. Same "wow, who built this" reaction. The difference is one takes 6 weeks and a dev retainer, the other takes 6 days and a Figma file. I'm not saying code is dead. Complex web apps, custom logic, heavy backend work, that's still dev territory, always will be. But a marketing site, a portfolio, a landing page for your product launch? That's a design problem wearing a dev costume. The bottleneck was never the tooling. It was that most "no-code" tools looked like no-code. Framer doesn't. That's the unlock. I think in 5 years, the freelancers winning the most work in this space aren't the ones who code fastest. They're the ones who can take a Figma file and ship something that feels custom, without touching a line of CSS.
