heydavid.design is a personal portfolio website created to present my work, services, and approach as a product designer and web developer in a clear and engaging way. The goal of the project was to build a strong first impression while communicating both design quality and technical capability.
The design focuses on a bold, minimal visual direction where typography, layout, and motion work together to guide attention and highlight key information. Instead of overwhelming visitors with content, the structure prioritizes clarity and flow, helping users quickly understand what I do and how I can help.
Special attention was given to hierarchy, spacing, and interaction details to create a smooth and modern browsing experience across devices. The result is a portfolio that not only showcases projects, but also reflects the way I think about design: simple, intentional, and focused on real outcomes.

For day 13 of my daily creative challenge, I designed a minimal portfolio concept for a fictional indie photographer, Jean-Pierre Despereaux.
The goal was to create something that feels quiet, cinematic, and editorial without relying on heavy visual noise or overly complex layouts.
A lot of photography websites already have beautiful imagery, so I wanted the interface itself to step back and behave more like a gallery wall. Large negative space, restrained typography, monochrome imagery, and subtle composition choices became the focus.
I was also interested in how the experience could scale responsively across desktop, tablet, and mobile while still preserving the same atmosphere and visual rhythm.
This was a fun exploration in restraint, pacing, and letting imagery breathe.
