A calm interface doesn't have to feel static.
With RISE, the interactions are deliberately restrained.
A subtle hover gives just enough feedback to make the interface feel responsive, without breaking the slower, more considered visual language.
No big effect.
Just a small response at the right moment.

This is a lovely example of restraint carrying the interaction—just enough hover feedback to make the quiet visual language feel alive. The typography and pacing give the product a very considered, editorial presence.

Thank you! That was exactly the balance I was after — bringing it to life without losing that quiet, editorial feel 🙌

Restraint like this is way harder to pull off than a flashy effect, most sites can't resist doing too much. Was there an interaction you built and then cut because it felt like it was showing off?

Definitely. I usually push things too far first, then dial them back until the interaction supports the content instead of competing with it. That editing is a big part of the process.
