I’ve always liked the idea of designing products that feel like they came from the future, but still look like they could actually be manufactured.
So I explored that idea through a portable fragrance atomizer.
The direction: 1960s/70s industrial design language, pushed forward with a more futuristic form, modern materials, and contemporary product detailing.
I wanted it to feel futuristic without relying on the usual sci-fi clichés.
The result is a compact product built around strong geometry, tactile controls, material contrast, and a form that feels both familiar and new.
What do you think, does this feel like a believable product from the future?

This absolutely reads as believable the ribbed grip and knurled brass dial feel like real ergonomic decisions, not just styling. Exploded view really sells the engineering behind it too. Nice balance of retro warmth and modern precision.
