I built Deep Dive 🌊 - an interactive ocean expedition through Earth's last unexplored frontier.
It's a cinematic journey through Earth's last unexplored frontier — the deep ocean.
Built using Figma Make for the @contra × Figma Makeathon, Deep Dive takes you from the sunlit surface to Challenger Deep, uncovering extraordinary creatures, hidden ecosystems, and fascinating facts along the way.
Discover 47 species across 5 ocean zones, from surface waters to the deepest point on Earth.
As you scroll deeper, the ocean transforms around you. Light fades. Pressure rises. New species emerge from the darkness. Every zone reveals a different side of our planet — from sea turtles and dolphins to bioluminescent hunters of the abyss.
Click on creatures to unlock discovery cards packed with fascinating facts, habitat information, conservation status, and unique adaptations that help them survive in the deep.
The part I love most: it turns learning into exploration. Instead of reading about the ocean, you're traveling through it. Every creature is discoverable, every depth tells a story, and every click reveals something new about the world beneath the waves.
I wanted to create something that sparks curiosity and reminds us how little we still know about the oceans covering most of our planet.

Right now, more than 27,000 pieces of debris are orbiting Earth. Broken satellites, lost bolts, leftover rocket stages and nobody's cleaning it up. It sounds distant, but it isn't: this debris threatens the satellites our GPS, communications, and weather systems depend on, and could eventually block our access to space entirely.
I named the project Remora; a small fish that swims alongside sharks, cleaning their surroundings. We're the remoras. Space is our ocean.
The Makeathon brief was "design something that improves the world," and I wanted my answer to be playable, not just a poster.
Some of what's under the hood:
🎮 Two game modes: a free-flying drone collector with zero-G physics and a station-based sorting game where you triage incoming debris into recycling shipments
🤖 Three AI-controlled drones compete alongside you on a live leaderboard, each with its own personality and skill level
✨ Particle bursts, thruster trails, and docking animations — built frame-by-frame on canvas, no game engine
🌍 An animated Earth companion that reacts with rotating messages as you play
📡 Satellites cross your flight path on real trajectories — hit one and you lose cargo and hull integrity
🔼 A milestone-based upgrade system (Speed Boost, Cargo+, Magnet Field, Shield) that triggers mid-flight without pausing the game
It won't clean the orbit. But if it makes one more person think about the mess we're leaving up there — it did its job.

Kids don’t defeat fear by reading advice.
They understand it better when they can see it, shape it, shrink it, rename it, and laugh at it.
That’s the idea behind Monster Movie Studio — a cinematic interactive cartoon experience where children turn big fears into funny little animated monsters.
Instead of building another dashboard or basic kids app, I wanted this to feel like a playable cartoon episode.
A child can:
→ create a clay-like 3D monster
→ choose what made the monster feel big
→ drag magical tools onto it
→ direct a tiny cartoon scene
→ shrink the scary shadow
→ turn a roar into music
→ make the monster dance
→ transform it into a tiny helper
→ print a movie poster
→ share a gentle parent note
The whole experience is designed around one principle:
Every action should speak.
Not just buttons.
Not static cards.
Not a form with cute colors.
A tap should change the scene.
A drag should transform the monster.
A completed action should feel cinematic.
A child should feel like they are directing a tiny animated movie.

Dojo, a daily kendo practice, disguised as a card collection 🤺⚔️⛩️
Kendo is something that been sticking with me last 3 years... mostly get hit with a stick, repeatedly. But the part that sticks isn't the strikes, it's keiko: the same move, the same bow, over and over until they're yours. You don't win in kendo. You just keep showing up.
So I made an app that does the same thing. Dojo gives you one pack of three cards a day. No more, no matter how nicely you ask. Collect cards and you've quietly walk the path of a kendo practitioner!
It not a slot machine. No progress bars, no streak guilt, no confetti cannon at the finish. The grid just fills, one quiet day at a time.
I hope Dojo bows politely and asks you to come back tomorrow. And every card teaches you a little bit of kendo in English and Japanese, so you're learning while you collect.
