I've been making static ad designs with Claude Design, and it's changed how I work.
On a normal day I'd build these in Figma. But the output I'm getting from Claude now is a lot better than it was even a few months ago, and it's much faster. What used to take me days now comes together in a fraction of the time.
Here's the workflow behind these six:
Copy comes first, and it's not all Claude. I write a lot of it myself, or I give Claude references based on what I know already works and have it write in that direction. Some lines are good, some go straight in the bin, and plenty get tweaked until they actually speak to the audience.
Claude writes the image prompt for each concept, one literal visual metaphor per headline, like a chain, a block of ice or a missing reflection.
I generate the images in Nano Banana 2.1. Sometimes I use Pro, but honestly I haven't noticed much difference.
I bring the images back into Claude, and it places them in the design system: same layout, same type, same set across every ad.
The best part: the feedback so far is that these statics have been performing better than the video ads that were running.
The tools speed things up, but knowing your audience is still the job.
