AI is changing freelancing. How is the Contra community adapting?
As a Fiverr Community Leader for Pakistan, I recently hosted International Freelancers Day, bringing together freelancers at different stages of their journeys, from those just getting started to established sellers and agency owners.
One question kept coming up throughout the day:
What happens to independent professionals as AI continues to evolve?
The perspectives were fascinating.
Some believe AI will replace low-complexity services and push freelancers toward more strategic, specialized work.
Others are using AI to deliver faster, improve their workflows, and offer services that weren't practical for them before.
Some are exploring entirely new opportunities in AI automation, agents, and workflow development. Others are doubling down on what AI can't easily replicate: creative thinking, problem-solving, communication, and client relationships.
Personally, I believe the biggest opportunity lies in learning how to combine AI with real expertise rather than treating it as either a threat or a magic solution.
I'm curious to hear from the Contra community:
1. How is AI changing the way you work? Are you using it to enhance your existing services, building AI-powered solutions, or rethinking your business model entirely?
2. Does Contra have region-based communities? I'd love to know whether there are local communities, regional groups, or meetups where independent professionals can connect, share experiences, and learn from one another.
I'm particularly interested in connecting with other freelancers and independent professionals from Pakistan and across South Asia.
Paid for Contra Pro today. Big hopes, zero guarantees 😄
Goal for the next 30 days: land my first client on Contra, built on real work and real conversations in the community.
So I'm curious what you think 👇
Is Contra Pro worth it for a freelancer who is still looking for the first clients?
A) Yes, worth it
B) Not yet
C) Depends on your niche
D) Ask me in 30 days 😄
Drop your letter in the comments and tell me why.

Feels like a lot of companies are trying their luck with AI instead of hiring designers right now.
I think it's going to backfire on them in a few months.
Trying to stay optimistic about it.
What does practical, agentic AI look like in a real business workflow?
Our new TechFoundry IMS case study walks through seven demos—from purchase-order intake and catalog conflict resolution to vendor orders, shipments, client shipping, and invoice reconciliation.
It shows how AI agents, document processing, and software integrations work together, with human review where judgment matters. I’ve also included the technology stack behind the platform.
Purchase-order intake and catalog conflict resolution feel like the right place to start with agents, since the pain is concrete. How do you handle the cases where the agent is unsure and a human has to step in?
