What are the most important traits/skills you should look out for in a motion designer and video editor? Nope. Software mastery ISN'T the first thing. After editing over 300 videos, the two most important skill I'd say you look out for in a motion designer and video editor is:

1. Storytelling. Meaning, can they get you to better understand the message?

2. Leadership. Meaning, although their edit is complex, can they lead your eyes through that complexity without making you feel overwhelmed? These two things, in my opinion, matter more than any other thing. Got any to add? Share with us!
