Rumble Arena: a 3v3 multiplayer brawler that runs in your browser
I'd been seeing more and more web games built with AI, and I was curious how far I could take one myself. When Base44 announced the #Base44Challenge, I used it as my excuse to dive into web game development for the first time.
Three days later: Rumble Arena, a fast 3v3 arena shooter you can play instantly on your phone or laptop. No download, no install. Pick a fighter, jump into a 2-minute match with real players, and bots fill any empty slots so a match never waits.
What's inside • 6 original fighters (Bolt, Tank-o, Fizz, Mossy, Rook and Nana Nova), each with their own weapon, attack and super, and fully animated: running, shooting, melee, throws, hits and knockouts. • Real-time multiplayer powered by Base44 Actors: the server runs the match, so every player sees the same fight. • Private rooms with a live lobby: see who joins, vote to start, and bots fill the rest so it's always 3v3. • Bots with 5 difficulty levels, from Easy to Expert, plus an Auto mode that adapts to your win rate. • Sticky grenade pickups with cartoon explosions (and a very squeaky scream). • Built for mobile: auto-aim fire button, rapid fire, a customizable control layout with a left-handed mode, and landscape play. • Automations: daily quests, AI-written match recaps, weekly leaderboard resets and player win-back emails.
How it came together I started with a flat 2D prototype, then rebuilt it in 3D with animated characters, real weapons and a full arena. Most of the work was in the feel: making movement, aiming and firing feel responsive on a phone, fixing multiplayer edge cases, and polishing the touch controls.
Credits: characters, animations and nature assets by Kay Lousberg (KayKit), weapons by Kenney (Blaster Kit). All CC0, thank you both! Built with: Base44, Three.js
