I found three anonymous Mughal album folios from the 1600s and 1700s in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Open Access collection, and built a custom Recraft Style from their salmon-pink borders, flat perspective and fine watercolour detail. I used that style to paint modern Lahore life as a Mughal album painter might have seen it: food-delivery riders, video calls, earbuds and e-scooters, all inside the old album frames. The style stays centuries old; only the subjects are new. Each image below pairs the archive original (left) with the new Recraft image (right).
