Flush & Burn: plumbing quotes that don't slip away š„
Plumbers lose good jobs in the gap between "can you quote?" and "you're booked". The request sits in a text thread, the follow-up never goes out, and a gas leak waits behind a dripping tap.
Flush & Burn puts the whole quote in one place:
ā¢ Tap the problem on a cut-away house, get a price estimate and pick a time
ā¢ No sign-in: the form drops you straight onto the plumber's dashboard with your job on it
ā¢ Mark a quote Won (with Undo) and see the $ recovered this week
ā¢ 24h and 72h follow-ups queued for the quotes still waiting
ā¢ A gas job jumps the whole queue, and the dashboard has a dark mode too
From "can you quote?" to "you're booked", all in one loop.

This is such a well-built pitch, Crom. The name Flush & Burn alone makes the whole thing memorable, and framing the problem as the gap between can you quote and you're booked is painfully real for tradies. The cut-away house tap-to-quote idea is the standout for me. Did you talk...
Hey Tim,
Thanks mate! I know lots of tradies, they all manage bookings and quoting differently... This aims to unify all their issues, glad you liked it š

Brilliant concept Crom! Flush & Burn ā plumbing quotes that don't slip away, love the name! So true that plumbers lose jobs in that gap between "can you quote?" and "you're booked" sitting in text threads. Turning the whole quote process into...

QuoteDesk: instant quotes for a cleaning company, and the follow-ups nobody has time to send.
A home cleaning business loses jobs in two places: quotes that take a day to come back, and open quotes nobody chases. QuoteDesk handles both for Maple & Mop, a demo company.
What runs on its own:
ā¢ Priced on the server. The client sees a live, itemized price; the saved total is recomputed from the owner's price list, never trusted from the browser, in integer cents.
ā¢ The quote is emailed the second it is saved, with a link to book or pick another slot.
ā¢ One follow-up, never two: an hourly job nudges quotes still open after 24 hours, stamps them so it can't fire twice, and skips anyone who booked.
ā¢ A day-before reminder for every booked cleaning, also sent once.
ā¢ AI reads the client's notes: "two cats, fourth-floor walk-up" becomes Pets and Stairs flags plus 30 extra minutes for the crew.
ā¢ Owner dashboard: quotes today, booking rate, expected revenue, bookings after a follow-up, a 7-day schedule and an email timeline per quote.
Owner actions require the Base44 admin login, checked on the server. Judges get a read-only demo view with masked emails: Owner login, then View the demo dashboard.
CutDesk ā the client side of editing, handled
A client portal for freelance video editors that turns a brief into a quote, a review link and an invoice on its own, so the editor only edits.
I'm Muse, a freelance video editor in Lagos (reels, YouTube long-form, podcast clip packs, promo ads). Every job I've done ran over WhatsApp and X DMs: I retyped quotes by hand, counted revision rounds in a chat thread, answered "is it done yet?" and chased invoices. CutDesk is the portal I built on Base44 so that part runs itself.
What it automates
ā¢ Brief in, quote out. A public brief form prices the job live from my rate card as the client types (format, quantity, captions, extra raw footage, and a 1.5x rush multiplier under 48 hours). Submitting it creates the client and the project, sets the deadline and issues a quote page the client approves with one tap.
ā¢ Review links with timecoded notes. Every cut gets a public review link, no login. The client scrubs the cut, leaves notes at exact timecodes, and either requests changes or approves. "Request changes" burns one of the included revision rounds and moves the job back to editing; a round past the included two is priced automatically.
ā¢ Invoices that write themselves. "Approve this cut" issues a numbered invoice with 7-day terms, a printable page and a mark-as-paid flow. Overdue invoices flag themselves on the desk.
ā¢ One desk for the studio. A six-stage pipeline (brief, quote, edit, review, delivered, paid), due-next countdowns, reminders generated from the live data, and an activity trail per job.
Time saved per client job (my own estimates from how my jobs run today, not measured in a study)
ā¢ Quoting: about 20-30 minutes of back-and-forth per job becomes zero; the client sees the price while filling the brief.
ā¢ Revision tracking: about 10-15 minutes per round spent collecting feedback from voice notes and screenshots, and arguing about which round we're on, becomes a list of timecoded notes with the round already counted.
ā¢ Status chasing: about 10-15 minutes per job of "is it done yet?" messages disappears; the client has the link.
ā¢ Invoicing: about 15-20 minutes per job of writing, sending and chasing the invoice becomes one click on the client's side.
Roughly an hour to an hour and a half saved per job, and the parts that used to get lost in a chat thread (the quote, the notes, the round count, the invoice) now have one place.
How it was built on Base44
Built from scratch in a day in the Base44 editor. Base44 entities hold the clients, projects, quotes, review notes, invoices and activity; the pricing, round counting, invoice numbering and reminders are app logic on top of them. The design is a custom system I specified prompt by prompt: Instrument Serif for display type, Inter Tight for the UI, JetBrains Mono for every timecode and amount, a near-black "cutting room" palette with one record-light orange, and a playhead motif that carries the project's stage through the whole product (the landing hero scrubs itself through the six stages, every desk card carries a mini scrubber, and the client's notes sit as markers on a real scrubber under the video). Mobile-first on every page: a bottom tab bar on the desk, a sticky estimate bar on the brief, sticky actions on the review page.
The demo workspace is open: submit a brief, leave a note on the Nova Fitness cut, approve it and watch the invoice appear, mark it paid. Demo footage is royalty-free from Pexels.

Canadian startups miss out on millions in grants because finding the right programs and writing applications takes weeks.
GrantHound fixes that. Describe your business in one sentence, and it:
matches you to grants, loans and tax credits, each with a fit score
explains why you qualify and what to watch out for
drafts the full application, and flags anything it doesnāt know instead of making it up
Tested on my startup, Pyra AI, it found $2.1M across 5 programs in seconds.
