PROJECT OVERVIEW:
AAOsrc is a modern server-rendered movie discovery and streaming platform designed to provide users with a seamless experience for exploring, searching, and watching movies while managing personalized watchlists across devices.
Built with Lovable's TanStack Start platform, the application combines a cinematic user interface with scalable architecture, secure authentication, server-side rendering, cloud-based persistence, and third-party API integrations.
The platform supports both authenticated users and guests through a hybrid watchlist system, allowing data to synchronize with Supabase when signed in while automatically falling back to local storage for anonymous visitors.
The Challenge
Modern streaming platforms require far more than displaying movies.
The application needed to provide:
Fast movie discovery
Server-rendered pages
Intelligent search
Secure authentication
Personalized watchlists
Responsive user experience
Cloud synchronization
Third-party integrations
Scalable deployment
while maintaining a clean architecture that could easily support future expansion.
THE SOLUTION:
I designed and developed a production-ready streaming MVP that combines modern frontend architecture with cloud services and AI-assisted development.
The platform allows users to:
Browse curated movie collections
Search thousands of titles
View detailed movie information
Watch movies directly within the application
Save favorites
Synchronize watchlists across devices
Continue using the application without creating an account
My Development Process
Product Planning
Defined the product architecture, user journey, and core streaming experience.
System Architecture
Designed the SSR architecture using TanStack Start with scalable routing and server-side rendering.
Frontend Development
Built responsive interfaces optimized for desktop and mobile users.
Authentication
Integrated Supabase authentication and secure session management.
Database Design
Implemented a Row Level Security (RLS) watchlist system with hybrid cloud and local persistence.
API Integration
Connected movie metadata, trailers, playback, and search services through external APIs.
Performance Optimization
Optimized route loaders, parallel data fetching, lazy loading, caching strategies, and server rendering.
Deployment
Configured the application for deployment on both Vercel and Cloudflare Workers.
