Ascend Indiana

Ascend Indiana is a statewide workforce development platform designed to bridge the gap between education and employment by connecting students, employers, educational institutions, and community partners through a seamless digital experience.

For this project, I was responsible for the custom WordPress development, transforming complex designs into a scalable, high-performance website while ensuring a smooth content management experience for the client. Rather than relying on standard page-builder functionality, the website was engineered with a modular, reusable architecture that allows new sections and layouts to be created with minimal development effort.

The platform was built using WordPress, Elementor Pro, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and a collection of custom ACF blocks tailored specifically to the project's requirements. Interactive user experiences were enhanced with GSAP animations, custom JavaScript components, and performance-focused frontend development to deliver smooth transitions without sacrificing speed or accessibility.

A strong emphasis was placed on creating a flexible CMS that empowers non-technical content editors. Custom templates, dynamic content structures, reusable components, and advanced field management make it easy for the Ascend Indiana team to maintain and expand the website while preserving design consistency across hundreds of pages.

From a technical perspective, the project included responsive frontend development, custom PHP functionality, optimized asset loading, SEO-friendly architecture, accessibility best practices, and performance optimization to ensure fast loading times across desktop and mobile devices.
