GHOST TAPE — my entry for Envato's #envatochallenge.
The brief: create something using Envato as your main toolkit, and show where human judgment made the difference. So here's mine.
I asked the AI for a vintage cassette player. It gave me something "perfect" — glossy neon glow, clean symmetry, straight out of a commercial. Technically flawless. Emotionally empty. That's exactly the trap the challenge warns about.
I rejected it and pushed the opposite direction: tracking distortion, asymmetry, grain — something that feels like a recording that shouldn't still be playing. That one decision is the whole project.
I grew up on analog horror, 🙌 so this ended up feeling more personal than I expected. Two final shots. Built entirely inside Envato — ImageGen, VideoGen, fonts, sound effects, and music, all from the same toolkit.
