Why I broke every "rule" of web design for Walaiti?
In Pakistan, pursuing art is often met with skepticism and labels that devalue the craft. As a Brand Strategist, I wanted "WALAITI" to stand as a direct challenge to those social norms. We moved away from traditional, "safe" corporate aesthetics to embrace a raw Anti-Design approach that tells the truth about the creative journey. By incorporating elements like cardboard textures, steel accents, and construction tape, we represent the grit required to build a career in the arts. The faceless portrait serves as a silent nod to the judgment women face, reclaiming their narrative through strength and anonymity. This design isn't just a website; it's a statement that you can do what you love and find fulfillment outside of conventional expectations. If you can't be bold, leave.
