I see this happen on almost every project: A founder reviews their new website on a massive, beautiful 4K desktop monitor. It looks incredible. The animations are smooth, and the images are stunning.
But here is the reality check: 70% of your actual customers are trying to load that exact same website on a smartphone while waiting in line for coffee.
If your site is bloated with heavy code, unoptimized images, or clunky templates, it will take 5+ seconds to load on mobile. In 2026, if a page takes more than 3 seconds to load, over half of your traffic will just close the tab and go to your competitor.
A beautiful design means nothing if the user never gets to see it.
