4,000 insurance policies, and nobody could tell which ones were about to lapse.

The brokerage tracked renewals across several offices. The policy data was unreliable, and urgent renewals looked like every other row. Outreach left no record, and when something broke, it broke quietly.

We built them a renewal and upsell workflow in n8n. It checks every policy before anything runs and ranks renewals by urgency. GPT-4o-mini drafts the outreach, with retries and a fallback if a call fails. Every send is logged, and if something fails, someone gets an alert.

What changed: Lapse rate went from 11.4% to 4.1% ~$680K in annual premium protected ~$210K in new annual premium Compliance docs in under 30 seconds

The AI writes the emails. The checks, logs and alerts are what make it safe to run on real revenue.

Impressive how the n8n workflow turned unreliable policy data into a ranked renewal queue and dropped lapse rates from 11.4% to 4.1% - the GPT-4o-mini drafts plus the built-in logs and alerts make the automation both powerful and safe.
