Role: Shopify Store Manager / Product Data Specialist

1. The Challenge:

The client needed a consistent, scalable product data structure across every trainer SKU and colourway, one the internal team could reuse for future drops without rebuilding logic each time, plus benefit-led copy that translated technical specs into shopper language.

2. What I Did:

Structured metafields Built out a full metafield schema per product: colour name and colour sibling linking (so shoppers can swap colourways directly from the PDP), item features, best-use cases, care instructions, sizing/fit guidance, and materials breakdown. Also configured supporting store-level metafields, footwear category, gender, collection banner text, and pre-sale shipping notes.

3. Product copywriting

Wrote benefit-led product descriptions and feature bullet points (e.g. "SwellFoam™ midsole delivers a balance of stability and responsiveness"), converting raw technical specs into copy that sells while staying accurate.

4. Merchandising & taxonomy

Assigned each product to the correct collections (Men's/Women's Footwear, Training, New In, etc.), applied consistent tags for filtering and search, and set product type/vendor fields to keep the catalog clean and query-able as it scales.
