I’d just wrapped up my icon morph experiments when I saw the new iPhone Duo status icons. The animation kept showing up on my feed, and it was too good not to try rebuilding for the web. The whole thing is made with SVG paths.

I built this interaction study with an immersive night view and a quieter editorial reading view. Switching layouts keeps the same conversation in place, so the visual style changes without losing your progress.
The working demo includes a five-step story, preset choices, a bookmark toggle and a motion control. The two images are actual browser captures of the coded interface.
