Animation is a Team Sport 🤝 I had the privilege of serving as Creative Director on the Sonic 2 Echidna backstory sequence, but the final result was a massive group effort.
We started with a blank canvas. To get the look right, we brought in Darek Zabrocki and his team to handle the concept art, establishing a texture that felt ancient and weathered.
To bring it to life, I worked alongside Director Jeremy Mansford and Epic Steve, who handled the 2D FX and transitions. Their work bridged the gap between my 3D camera moves and the static illustrations, adding the magical energy the story required.
Leading this team was a highlight of my career. A huge thank you to everyone at Unlisted Melbourne and Paramount for trusting us with this lore.
