Two years ago, I built the
Hatypo Studio website from scratch.
The site generated a lot of leads. It even earned a Honorable Mention on
awwwards.
Overall, the site worked well. But over time, we kept noticing some small issues, missed opportunities, and areas where the site didn't fully reflect the studio's growth.
So we did something uncomfortable: we went back to research.
Not just tweaks. Not a visual refresh. But a complete rethink.
I spent the rest of 2025 documenting what wasn't working and why. Then, in early 2026, I started rebuilding with a new brand direction, a new layout system, new interactions, and some features we hadn't tried before.
This post is the beginning of that story.
In the next few weeks, I'll share a little bit about the process, from establishing direction to creating the website design for
Hatypo Studio.
If you're building a studio website, stay tuned.
I think there's something you'll find helpful here.
