Lately, I've been thinking a lot about AI.
And honestly, it's a little scary.
You spend years learning a craft...
And suddenly a tool can do parts of it in seconds.
But there's one thought I can't get out of my head.
A few years from now, we'll probably see millions of websites built with AI.
They'll all be:
• Fast
• Beautiful
• SEO optimized
• AEO optimized
• Technically almost perfect
But then a question comes up:
If every website is optimized, who gets the first 5 positions?
As someone who builds websites for a living, I'm starting to believe that the technical side of building websites is becoming a commodity.
The real value is shifting toward understanding the business.
Understanding who the customer is, what they actually care about, and why they'd choose one company over another.
Because AI can build a website.
AI can write code.
AI can generate content.
But it can't take responsibility for a business outcome.
I don't think developers are disappearing.
I think our role is changing.
Less builder.
More conductor.
The people who can combine technology, marketing, SEO, AEO, and business strategy to create real results will become increasingly valuable.
Curious how others see this.
Am I wrong?
