I had zero budget for a campaign this week. What I had was a photo of a monkey clinging to a plushie in a Japanese zoo. That's Chang (My Cat and Cofounder). That's every pet we're building Chonky Paws for. So I built a whole story around it. Chang visiting Japan. Bringing his slow feeder bowl as a gift to his new friend Monkey Punch. No photoshoot. No agency. Just a concept and 2am energy. The campaigns that feel "weird" are usually the ones worth trying. Safe content blends in and blending in is the one thing an early-stage brand cannot afford.

A good reminder that nobody owes your content their attention. 2. INFINITE CURIOSITY Gofio will investigate a random paper bag for twenty minutes like it might change his life. But he ignores the toy I bought him. Never take anything for granted! 3. YOU CANNOT FORCE INTEREST Try picking up a cat that does not want to be picked up. That is what bad marketing feels like. 4. INDEPENDENCE IS A BIT OF A LIE Gofio acts like he runs the house. But somehow I am still the one refilling the food bowl... I'm not afraid to ask for clarification if it means doing better work. My work still depends on trust and people. So yes, Gofio might secretly be my toughest marketing mentor ❤️🐱
