Every RAG project looks straightforward until retrieval quality is tested in the real world.

While building Juno RAG, the biggest challenge wasn’t generating answers, it was making sure the answers were actually grounded in the client’s data.

Simple vector search wasn’t enough. Relevance, ranking, and context preservation made the real difference.

So the system was designed with hybrid retrieval, cross-encoder re-ranking, and strict source citation from day one.
