I'm so happy to share that I just joined the @floraai Museum Challenge! πβ¨ That means a lot to me.
For my project, I drew inspiration from three incredible pieces of samurai armor housed in The Met's collection:

Each one is a masterwork of craftsmanship where armor built not just for battle, but as a statement of identity, status, and artistry
Studying these pieces got me thinking: these are extraordinary works of art, but they live behind glass, in one place, accessible only to those who can visit. So I asked myselfΒ βwhat if that could change?β
That's the idea behind my project: reimagining these historic armors as a collectible card series Gusoku Inaba, Nimai-DΕ Gusoku, and a Gusoku into a pack, so that something so precious and rooted in history could become flexible, personal, and portable.
My vision is simple: art is something incredibly precious, and it shouldn't just sit as a display we admire without ever understanding the meaning and the incredible history behind it. By turning it into something we can hold, carry, and interact with, I hope people can connect more deeply with the story and craftsmanship behind each piece,not just look at it, but truly understand it.Β
I'm really proud of how this project came together, and I'm excited to be part of a community reimagining how we experience art in new, more accessible ways.

I liked this painting because of the boy at its center, Manuel, dressed in a striking red suit, holding a magpie on a string while three cats watch him from the shadows. Even as a child's portrait, it felt tense, like something was about to happen. It looked like a moment frozen right before a story unfolds.
What I made: I turned Manuel into a toy doll, kept his red suit, his pose, his face, everything the same, just changed what he is. In my video, a father buys the doll from a toy shop and gives it to his little daughter, and they walk out together. I chose a girl instead of a boy on purpose, it felt like giving Manuel a second life completely outside the world he was painted into, away from the cats, the cage, the tension, just a toy being loved.
How I made it: I downloaded the painting image from The Met's open archive, then imported it into FLORA, connected the picture to a text prompt node, then connected both the picture and text prompt node to the video node I also made an element Doll, and selected the Seedance 2.5 model with a 30 second clip. I kept the workflow as simple as possible.
Why I made this: I wanted to take Manuel out of the painting and out of the museum, and give him an actual childhood, even 230+ years later. I think his portrait still holds so much presence that it deserves to live on, just now as something a child can actually hold and love, not just look at.

TOTEM β The Throne (bonus piece β my main entry is here π)

This piece is a side visual from the same project TOTEM.
A ceremonial board (Malu) made by the Sawos people of the Middle Sepik River, New Guinea, 19th century β carved in openwork, its pattern cut through like a lattice. In TOTEM, it becomes the emblem of male authority in the post-collapse world β a direct echo of its original role. Its motifs, reimagined and transformed, repeat not only in the radiating backrest of the throne itself, but in the standing elements beside it β reinforcing that authority. The original board was carved by the Sawos and traded to their neighbors, the Iatmul, who used boards like this in the initiation ceremonies that mark a boy's passage into manhood β the same charge of male power that TOTEM reforges into a throne for the world after collapse.

TOTEM β FLORA Museum Challenge submission
The Challenge: take one real, public-domain object from The Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection and reimagine it into a new world, using FLORA.
My key artifact: a 19th-century rattle by the Xaadas (Haida) people, from Masset, Haida Gwaii. The Met describes it directly: "This raven rattle depicts a perched bird with wings outstretched toward its front β an unusual representation of the raven on a rattle, more typical of the way it would be depicted on a memorial (or totem) pole."
For the Haida, Raven isn't just a myth character β it's one of the two clan divisions their entire society was built on (Raven and Eagle, inherited through the mother's line), and a rattle like this was carried by a chief during ceremonial dances as a mark of rank. Beyond Haida Gwaii, Raven keeps reappearing in the same role across the Pacific Northwest as a creator and trickster figure, and even in Norse mythology as Huginn and Muninn β Odin's ravens, Thought and Memory. Almost everywhere it shows up, it carries the same charge: intelligence, transformation, the thing that adapts and endures.
