Please Hold!!!

Milly runs Relay Nine, an interstellar emergency line, alone, at night, by the book — procedure first, feelings later. She's dryly funny, deeply competent, and immovable about protocol. Until a caller answers "Please hold" with "Please don't."

In the pilot, Milly locates a crashed escape pod and stays on the line while a rescue is dispatched. By the next call, her opening line has quietly changed: "I'm listening."

Where the series goes next: each episode is a new cosmic emergency that tests the distance between Milly's procedure and what someone actually needs — a caller who invents a malfunction out of loneliness, a translation error that turns a routine call into an apparent threat, and an episode where the power goes out at Relay Nine and Milly has to trust someone else to help her, for once.

Character and pilot were created and produced end-to-end in Cantina. This is my original work.
