Excited to share a WIP. I could’ve shipped this site in an hour with Claude Code. I didn’t. Here’s why 👇
Modern Minis is an indoor play town for kids, with one rule: parents stay on site. They get their own space to eat, work or just switch off while the kids play.
The brief:
- Build it with Claude Code, and fast
- Busy parents, so booking has to be effortless
- Keep bounce rate low and conversion high
Claude handled the build. But every section, animation and interaction was directed by me, backed by research, competitive analysis, content strategy and design exploration. Claude made it fast. Experience is what makes it convert.
The design call:
Kids play here, but parents book. So it’s not too playful: no cartoon fonts, no rainbow overload. Warm tones and clean type make it feel trustworthy to an adult.
It still couldn’t feel corporate. The hero runs real footage of happy kids, because that’s the moment a parent pictures their own child there. The emotion sells the visit, and the design gets out of the way so they can book.
First pass on booking:
- Only the essentials: name, number of kids and their ages
- No account creation, which is where friction starts and people drop off
- The next open session sits in the hero, one tap from landing
Again, it’s a work in progress, so I’d love real feedback from my Contra family 🙌
What would you change?
Made some project page fixes on my Framer template in progress and made the project index page responsive before going to bed tonight.
To keep the UX feeling nice I added a scroll snapping effect to the project video panes so that they never appear only partially, but one pane at a time is always fully on screen as the user scrolls. 🔧
