Operations for a Startup Apparel Brand
Overview:
Built the operational foundations for We Are Local, an independent apparel brand launched from concept to first product drop, creating the systems, workflows and operational structure required to manage product launches, fulfilment, customer communication and brand growth.
The Challenge:
Launching a product-based business required building operational processes from scratch across multiple areas simultaneously, including production coordination, supplier management, inventory tracking, fulfilment, customer experience and launch execution.
The goal was to create a lean but scalable operational setup that allowed the business to move quickly while maintaining brand quality, organisation and customer experience.
My Role:
Led the operational setup and day-to-day management of the business, including:
• Building operational workflows and fulfilment processes
• Managing supplier and production coordination
• Creating systems for inventory and order tracking
• Supporting launch planning and execution
• Overseeing timelines and operational logistics
• Managing customer communication workflows
• Supporting brand rollout and growth planning
• Establishing scalable systems for future product drops
The Outcome:
Successfully launched the brand’s first apparel drop, which sold out within the first week, while building operational systems designed to support future growth and repeat launches.
