Guide the user's eye to what matters most. Make important elements bigger, bolder, or brighter, and keep less important ones small and quiet.
Quick test: Squint at your design. If you can't tell what's most important, your hierarchy needs work.

The squint test is a good one, and your own photo passes it: the glowing laptop is the first thing the eye lands on. Bold suggestion for the daily rule series: swap one day's tip for a before and after from your own design. Everyone posts the rule, almost nobody shows the fix, and the fix is what gets you hired.
