Sometimes we get so caught up in the day-to-day that it's easy to feel like we're not really moving forward. That's exactly why it matters to stop and celebrate every milestone along the way, no matter how small it may seem in the moment.
Today I'm celebrating one of those milestones: I just hit $1K earned on Contra. 🎉
It's more than just a number, it's a reminder of every project, every client relationship, and every bit of growth that got me here. Grateful for the journey so far, and excited for what's next.

Yes, I love the habit of celebrating small achievements! I’ve built up this number little by little here, so when I got the notification, it was a moment when I paused and realized what I’m gradually building, and that’s wonderful :)

6+ months on Contra, zero projects landed. What am I missing?
I want to ask the community an honest question.
For over six months, I've been consistently applying to projects and jobs here on Contra. So far, I haven't been selected for a single contract or project.
On paper, I feel like I've done everything right:
Multiple Expert badges
Contra Pro member
20+ Hire requests on my profile
Yet none of it has turned into actual work.
I'm not writing this to complain. I genuinely want to understand what's happening. Is this common for others too? Are clients mostly hiring through their own networks? Is there something about proposals, pricing, or profiles that makes the real difference?
If you've landed work on Contra, I'd really appreciate hearing what worked for you. And if you're in the same boat, let's talk about it openly.
